Flexibility and stretch therapy

Flexibility is probably the most neglected and misunderstood aspect of health and fitness.

Most people devote very little time to this important part of their routine often choosing to skip straight to the exercise or sport.Often even those that do include stretches do so without a good level of understanding.

Performing the wrong type of stretches before a workout can actually make the session less effective and even leave you vulnerable to injury, and the wrong exercises post workout can be a complete waste of your time.

Flexibility training and choosing the correct stretches for your fitness level and type of activity can be confusing when the only information available is the chart on the gym wall or stretches you were probably shown at school.

An even more complex area of stretching is that which is involved in the rehabilitation of injury or the correction of muscular imbalances.

An injured muscle will repair in a shortened state and a more severe injury that has resulted in a limb being immobilised for some time will also suffer some muscle wasting.

These situations require specialised and specific types of stretching and need to be taught by someone with experience.

We offer the following services-
